I started my working life as an accountant but a keen passion in health and nutrition took me on a different path. I left the office life behind and ran a successful health food business promoting a healthier life style in my local community.
For over 10 years i have offered a range of fitness classes allowing people to cross train and also find something they enjoy and can stick with because I believe that consistency is key to health and longevity.

Beginners Pilates
Living near Kirkby Lonsdale I enjoy an active lifestyle alongside my family life and particularly enjoy Pilates, running and open water swimming. I am committed to sharing the benefits of Pilates to beginners and returners, offering safe, welcoming classes that focus on flexibility, posture, balance and strength. My approach is supportive and inclusive, creating a space where everyone can feel comfortable moving at their own pace whilst improving overall wellbeing.

Zumba Instructor
I’m Holly - Zumba instructor, Reiki Master, civil servant, and proud Mam. I love creating laughter and joy through movement, creating calm and supporting healing through energy work, and striving to make a difference in my day job. My heart feels fullest when I am with my family, outdoors, surrounded by trees, birdsong, fresh air, and the magic of the lakes around us.
EMMA
Mindful, Strength & Stability Yoga
Emma Gwillim is a Yoga Alliance-accredited Senior Yoga Teacher and Coach who holds a specialist trauma-informed certification. She is passionate about helping people to develop a rich awareness of the felt sense and empowering them with practices to build a resilient nervous system.
Emma is trained in multiple styles of yoga - including hatha, yin, restorative, yoga nidra and children’s yoga, as well as applied polyvagal theory for therapeutic yoga for trauma. She is also a Master Practitioner of NLP and coach.

DDP Yoga
I have always been a keen runner but in 2012, aged 28, I was regularly getting injuries to my knees, hips and lower back. This is when I discovered DDP Yoga and in the 13 years since I have been injury free (touch wood) and was amazed at how quickly I progressed, being able to touch my toes within a fortnight of starting!

I’ve had a lifelong interest in sports and fitness in general, initially gymnastics then squash and hiking. Fulfilling a long term ambition I ran my first of 4 London marathons in 2010 at the age of 57 and then an ultra marathon in the Himalayan region of China for my 60th challenge.
I lived in Hong Kong for 12 years, becoming a personal trainer and life coach when I returned home in 2014 after retiring from teaching.
I now love running fitness classes in Burton in Kendal and Arkholme.
Other passions include travel, gardening, cooking, reading …..and doing anything with my rather large family!

Being a painfully shy, middle aged, overweight person, the last place you would have found me would have been a gym. When I was struggling to walk up a hill I realised I had to do something about it. Taking that first step through the door was one of the scariest things I have done. Would everyone judge me, look me up and down, especially when I’m bright red and sweating? Thankfully I wasn’t the only one sweating and out of breath. That was the breakthrough for me mentally. Now, I miss my classes when I can’t go. Not only for the fitness but also the social aspect of it. The classes are like the family you never knew you had with support and encouragement from everyone. My self confidence has grown. I’m still middle aged and shy but I’m the fittest I have ever been, my body shape has changed and toned up and I have a lovely bunch of new friends. I wouldn’t have achieved any of this without our fabulous teacher, Kate, who makes the classes fun whilst pushing you and she tailors the exercises to suit all abilities. We love attending Kate's classes. She is a star! My husband, Bill attends about 3 per week and I attend about 1-2 per week. The workouts are hard work but fun and Kate is exuberant and supports individual needs in all her classes. I started slowly with pilates, core and yin yoga, building strength and flexibility before attempting the more challenging circuits and metafit classes. Kate has gently encouraged me along the way to challenge myself and this has resulted in me becoming stronger and much more flexible. I now find household chores such as changing beds and lifting heavy shopping much easier and I feel better in myself. Ten months into a seriously excessive number of classes every week, I feel fitter than any time in my life. This is all down to Kate who seems to know exactly how to get the best out of everyone, whatever their fitness level. Classes are always different and really fun. One of the biggest positives is the amazing (occasionally frightening) bunch of people who are on the same journey. Five stars are just not enough!!
